No end of great pubs in Stockport.  Went a couple of times to the Arden Arms.  First time, one mid-afternoon, great, no one there, lovely and quiet, beer super.  Second time, lunch, more like a restaurant, pushy girl waiter tried to make us sit down and order food, left and went to the Swan with 2 Necks, which is a beautiful pub and had a very cheese toastie and chips.  Beer range sometimes limited but always Robbie's Unicorn bitter.  Magnet just up the hill but we've not been there yet.
