| Some people are super sensitive to the flavor of diacetyl while others notice it a lot less. I can notice it, but I have been out drinking with a friend who is very sensitive to it, and will find a beer disgusting with too much diacetyl, while I will notice the diacetyl but find the amount tolerable. Same beer side by side. I have noticed it in many ales from the UK, but not to an intolerable level for me (in fact, is is often a pleasant component of the flavor profile). |
