Bamberg Tourist Tax |

Not to get deep into subject of tourism in Bamberg again but I have spoken to a couple of different locals in the past few weeks who have been bemoaning the volume of tourists in Bamberg. Indirectly linked, I learned that, for whatever reason, the City Council has not got the kind of money you might expect. So why don't they introduce a tourist tax? Bamberg must be one of the only tourist cities in Europe that doesn't charge a city tax for overnight stays. A Euro a night or so could raise significant revenues to be reinvested into the city for the residents. Seems a no brainer to me. |
