| OK, so I observe more and more Franconian breweries are making what they call a Rotbier. I’m aware this was supposedly an old Nürnberg style and was revived by small breweries, and it’s now popular enough that Tucher is making one. The few I’ve tasted don’t seem much different from any other dark-ish lager. Any thoughts on whether this type has any specific characteristics that mean it couldn’t equally well be called a Vollbier, Lager or Dunkel? |
