| Just a peraonal thing but I drink U invariably when in Spezial - I might have the odd Lager or Maerzen but Spezial U is probably my favourite Bamberg beer since the downfall of the wonderful Mahrs U. IMHO, it does carry a tinge of smokiness but it's very, vey faint and has baffled some of the most knowledgeable beer experts since time immemorial - well, maybe not quite that long but quite a long time. Maybe I'm helped in that it's unusual for me to eat in Spezial, though not unknown when in company. I'm often on my own just savouring the taste of the beer. In the end, I don't really care, it's just b ---- lovely beer! |
