| The minimum wage law started on the 1th January 2015. The law was adopted on 3th July 2014. So some pubs/restaurants etc. have rosen their prices in automn, maybe slowly and step by step. And others has followed 2015 and will follow step by step. I believe, in total they need a increase of average 20%, depending on the level of the wages before, the help of family members. Other consequences are: - shorter opening times, p.e. in the afternoon and the late evening (outside the rush hours). - shorter opening times for food (kitchen opening times). - more convenience products - more self-service p.e .in the beergardens You can say: less service. In many parts of Germany (p.e. Munich, Stuttgart etc.) the wage level is higher as the minimum wage. So the difference ot the prices p.e. beetween Munich and Bamberg will shrink - maybe. The most foreigners give too much tip (sometimes until 20%). In Germany the average tip is 7% of the bill. And the Euro is low! So: welcome in Germany! |
