| Indeed that does not sound like how it usually is at the brewery, I've not even found it sour. I should say that the Bockbier in November was clean, and the Kirchweihbier in August had no diacetyl or DMS, though it was a bit rough. My friend Jeff didn't seem to enjoy it but I found it just fine. I had an experience at Sauer Rottenbach last month, the Helles from tap had a strong white vinegar note, and after I mentioned it to the young woman who runs the restaurant (who is originally from Quebec and speaks perfect English), she poured off more from the keg and we noticed the vinegar note fade as more beer went through the line. She said she would mention it to the person responsible for the lines, a man who apparently told her that cleaning the lines is not recessary (gasp!). |
