Cask Ale in Oregon is mostly

So,was the use of 'fake' handpumps intended to deliberately deceive or was it an honest attempt to improve an otherwise sterile product?  I assume that, if you had not asked, you would have gone away with the impression that it was c-c beer.  Certainly, if such a practice was carried out in the UK - and, believe me, it was tried and may still be - it would be roundly condemned as an act of deception.  Maybe in the US scenario, as so well explained by Mark, Don and Fred, the case may be different - but I am a little suspcious!

Keep on searching for the real stuff and lauding it - people who try to produce a quality product need as much support as they can get, as we know from our British experience.
