| From yesterday til a week and a half or so, the Erlanger Bergkirchweih is on. Second only to Oktoberfest in Bavaria, as a Volksfest. Much better beer though, at relatively better prices. Haven't been yesterday or today, and the weather's turning cool, so maybe not until a nice afternoon next week for a nice chunk of roast ox. There seem to be more live webcams this year at https://www.berch.info/Berchcam-Erlanger-Bergkirchweih-2016.html which update every second or so, except for the one down at the bottom, about every minute, on top of the power plant tower south of the Bahnhof. At this very moment, it's raining on the eastern edge of town (home for me), but is dry "auf dem Berg". (Note the fränkisch spelling "Berch".) |
