Kellerbier - a style of its own?
Posted by Fred Waltman on 2002-08-13 15:03:41
Franconian Kellerbier seems to be a little tough to define... My definition is simply a unfiltered lager-style (typically a Märzen or Pilsner) beer that has lagered in the open containers in cellars, caves or anything cold, dusty and damp. Thus the 'definition' lies in the lagering - not the brewing. Does anyone disagree? Has anyone got a more precise definition?
