| FWIW, the ride along the canal (*) from Bamberg to Hirschaid could take as little as 40 minutes, so from Bamberg to Schlammersdorf could be 40 minutes plus how much time your Hirschaid-Schlammersdorf stretch took. But in any case, a RE train to Hirschaid is a sensible way to plan a bike tour of that part of the world.
