Odd Canadian English pronunciations (very OT)
Posted by Nick B. on 2010-07-20 23:51:54
Met up with a family of Torontonians in Oxford a couple of weeks ago. Aside from the usual "aboout" (instead of about), they say "pästa" for "pasta". Like "Shasta". Then when we asked if they meant "pasta", they said "yes, pästa". They couldn't even hear the difference when we pronounced it both ways. Nutters.
