Heh. Point taken. The only "lowlights" were a couple of past-their-peak (tainted) beers in ZoiglLand, in Mitterteich and Eschawo. Otherwise, the Oberpfalz acquitted itself quite well, beer-wise. In Franken? Maybe the Fässla Zwergla in so-so - not terrible, but not excellent - condition at that pub in Hallstadt was about as "not that good" as it got. Didn't run across any major butter-bombs (diacetyl) this time around, nor other weird defects like scorched wort (not Rauchbier, but beer fermented from wort that tasted "burned", like a not-quite-right phenolic Steinbier), which I've occasionally stumbled on in the past. Highlights were numerous, some expected - Kundmüller, Hartmann, Friedl's Kreuzeberg brewery-pub, the usual Bamberg suspects - and some new to me, like Wagner (Kemmern), Bräutigam (Weisbrunn), the 5-Seidla-Steig, and ... I have to go dig up a notebook to remember it all. All in all, it was nearly always highlight anyway; these are just a sampling of some of the peaks.
