A boiler for heating the house? If it wasn't used for heating tap water, but rather water for the radiators, I'd be concerned about non-food grade materials. But I'm quite ignorant on the subject! The only thing I don't like about my 15 YO 10 gal stainless kettle is that it's unfortunately not induction range capable. When I have to boil inside on the kitchen range ("cooker" to you lot I suppose!), I have to use 3 other smaller pots like this: http://64.62.165.141/fotos/wuerzekochen.jpg (2 x 12 litre pots, 1 7 litre) whereas the one big burner in the middle could accommodate the big 10 gal pot. But brewing outside --even at or below freezing-- is so much nicer with the 12 kilowatt propane "Hockenkocher". And I can boil 8+ gallons instead of 6-7. BTW, I find it mildy amusing that you Brits appear to use watts to measure heat, whereas Yanks rely on the trusty old British Thermal Unit!
