Never actually read that before now. Interesting stuff. Nürnberg was also a huge centre for the hop trade, and much of it was also under Jewish ownership, who were then persecuted in the 1930's.

A question arises though:

But Bamberg has not had a Royal court in the usual sense of the word. Until 1803 Bamberg and most of Franconia was ruled by a "Prince Bishop" of the Catholic church. 

Was Bamberg not ruled by one of the Heinrichs? If so, would there not have been a royal court there, at least in the middle ages?
