Sanitizing bottles

300° F ?!? Were you trying to anneal them or something?

Seriously, people, what critters can survive 65°C for a half hour that I should worry about? Meh, googling suggests bacteria are safely killed at 68°, I suppose I'll set it to 70 from now on. Then again, batch # 161 (überhoppy mild, 1.036 OG) was just bottled yesterday, and I've never had an infected bottle. (Batch 11 had to be dumped due to wonky yeast; that was a packet that I failed to refrigerate and made all kinds of funk. Up to that point, I'd simply kept yeast in the cellar, since then in the fridge.)

Once, I forgot some bottles in the oven, and heated it up to 190°C (~375F) to cook something. The rubber bits were fine, IIRC, but the white "ceramic" parts of the swing-tops had melted.
