The definition of a Märzen is different:
- In the 19th century in Germany: >= 15% P
- In Germany now: >= 13% P .
- in Austria until the year 1995: >= 12% P
- in Austria since 1995: >= 11% P
Oktoberfestbier: >= 13.5% P
