Düsseldorfer Beer

You would be planning a trip to Düsseldorf in October withOUT it having specifically be for Sticke?!? It is to boggle.

So I had a 1L of Schumacher Alt and a 50CL of Uerige tonight. From these two *bottlings*, I'd have to go back to the Uerige. A shade darker in both beer and head, and a bit of what I call the "Frankenheimer" character: a somewhat sharp note on the side of the tongue, but in Frankenheim's case, it's stronger, and the beer is sweeter and heavier in the mouth, AFAICK. If they weren't so strong (4.7%), I could see wanting to drink them regularly.

Suppose I could brew a properly lower-gravity version...
