| Yes, we are visiting Franken about 8-10 times per year since 2010. Mostly we are not visiting Bamberg centre, but at least we make a short stop at Wunderburg. End of September 2012 was the best Mahr's "U" I have ever had there - suprisingly nearly red-coloured, but yeasty, fresh. Excellent beer. It happened also in the winter 2012/2013 that beer was really great there. Since that time it wasn't outstanding, just average. It's a pity. Friend of mine, who really liked that beer (drinking it every week in Prague, as we have more-or-less regular on tap in one pub - sometimes also from Anstich-Fass) told me 3 weeks ago that he is there for the last time, as it is so bad. Maybe we had a bad luck in each of our visits since that time, but ... who knows ? |
