| My next beer walk will be a marvellous one with breathtaking views, though not too long, and I wanted to share the thought, so some of you can copy the tour. Pferdsfeld - Loffeld - Uetzing - Vierzehnheiligen - Pferdsfeld. Brauerei Leicht of Pferdsfeld has two two-bed rooms, so makes the perfect starting point. The beer (Helles Vollbier with a reddish hue and a nice hint of molasses) is great, too. Easy Hike to Loffeld, plain terrain. Staffelberg-Bräu of Loffeld will be the weak point, beerwise, of the walk but you need some strength to reach the Staffelberg peak. :-). The Loffeld beers are basic, simple and a bit bland. Then up the Staffelberg, old celtic oppidum with an incredible view. Staying on the high surface of the mountain we can walk to Uetzing first and have a couple of beers at Metzgerbräu (fantastic dark beer at the butcher's brewery!), then to Brauerei Trunk of Vierzehnheiligen (a range of well made beers, all of them very good!) or the other way round. Doesn't really matter, but Metzgerbräu closes at 6 p.m., so that one should be visited before. Then we can choose various ways back to Pferdsfeld. I'll do that walk on May 2nd with some friends, if anybody wants to join in... Cheers! Jürgen |
