| Hey Nick! You are correct, that stinking Dunkel from Brauerei Alt (Dietzhof) was really bad at the 2013 fest. You called it "horrid", I said it was "horrible"! Jesus, it ranks up there with the worst beers I have ever had in Germany!!!! It was so terrible! I hope it was just a bad line or barrel.... Would love to hear a report on the 2014 version. I found the 2013 Steinbach Festbier to be very good/great! One of the better fest beers I have had. I just love drinking it! I hope the 2014 edition is as good. I would have very much enjoyed a return visit to the fest this year, but it fell outside of my planned (but canceled) visit. I'll get back there some year. I could have cared less about the music at the fest. A nice table away from the music suits me fine, as long as good beer is nearby. Cutting out early is good advice. It can get packed at the fest (even during heavy rains). |
