Rother Bräu

Not in the big city of Roth, way down south of Nürnberg, rather, in the tiny village of Roth, way up north of the Kreuzberg (the one with the monastery brewery, not the one with Brauhaus am Kreuzberg), that is. Bottles of their Öko Zwickl have shown up at one of the organic/öko/bio shops in town here, and blimey if it ain't really, really nice. Golden, lovely balance of malt and grass, and organic, saving the soil and waters of Franken.

There is a bit of huskiness in the finish though, which causes me to keep sipping at it until it's gone. Funny how that works. Lovely new swingtop bottles with easily-removed labels are a bonus for collecting for homebrewing purposes, too. I think I shall have to order myself a whole case/crate/rack/Kiste. Don't expect I'll be getting up that way any time soon.

Anyone been?
