| Well, being that Franconia is such an idyllic region and all, this topic has undoubtedly been discussed ad nauseam. So, I guess it's time to start another thread about your favorite places to drink, where the beauty of the land matches that of the beer (ideally!). What do you folks consider to be some of the most picturequse places in the region? Have only been to Franconia five times and am wanting to find more natural wonders to explore. Upper Franconia is quite beautiful, of course, particualrly the Aufseß area, even though the beer hasn't exactly been praiseworthy. Brauerei Reichold makes some clean, if not especially dynamic, beer), but haven't had much luck elsewhere. Tis truly a pity that the dunkles lagerbier at Kathi-Brau in Aufseß-Heckenhof was so heavily flawed, because that's probably the most beautiful and ideal place to have a session as anywhere in the country (forested hills and open space please me very much!).
