Never thought I'd see this in a German supermarket!

Lager yeast works at nearly every temperature between 1°C and 37°C, but for fermentations below 6°C it takes too much time, and above 10°C it produces too much esters (fruity notes). 
In czech Budweiser (yeast strain "H"), they are still working event at -0.5°C in beer... (in lagering tanks).
