Franconia Travel Report pt 1

Very interesting report, thanks Michael.  Totally agree with most comments, particularly re Memmelsdorf. Hohn Gorchla very nice but Zoigl, never!  Drei Kronen, doesn't deserve to be in Franken!  Didn't you sample any Wagner in Merkendorf?

Not so great in the 'Zoigl Hauptstadt' this weekend, with only Weisse Schwann (a 'make-do' Zoigl stube to fill the gap) and Wolframstube (not a Zoigl stube at all) open.  WS Zoigl is fine, brewed by Robert Sperber of Binner, just sadly lacks Zoiglstube atmosphore (and we don't like the new front porch at all - sorry Wolfy!).  Neuhaus is a fair bit better with Schoilmichel open until Tuesday (inc).  If you fancy meeting, Michael, just leave a note here of when you might be around.

What's all this Beersommeliers business?  Do we need people to tell us what's good and what's bad - after 55 years years of beer drinking, I think that I know what I like.  A lot of bullshit.
