Great pleasure to put a couple more faces to names, as we met Jeff and Michael from Boiulder City, Colarado in Schoilmichel, Neuhaus last night. Very interesting conversation about many aspects of beer, including use (and overuse) of hops, value (or otherwise) of RateBeer, Franken beer, etc., etc. All of course accompanied by judicious seidlas of Manfred Punzmann's excellent Zoigl! Always interesting to gain an understanding of other's perception of beer and its enjoyment, particularly from people who enter the foray from a completely different environment to one's own. I was really fascinated by Jeff's appreciation of beer aromas but not sure that I'm quite ready to join him in liking the smell as much as the taste! Good to meet you both - hope that Bahler's party worked out ok and that you enjoy the rest of your trip. |
