| The most close-to-interesting beer options in the region are both west of Hannover, maybe too long of a drive, although both places offer lodging. In Lauenau, there's the Brauhaus Felsenkeller Rupp, with Bavarian-style beers. The founder came from Bavaria, so no surprise there. Lodgings are simple but reasonable, five rooms upstairs, with shared toilets and showers down the hall. Further west is Rinteln, with the Hotel Waldkater and in-house Hartinger brewery, producing unfiltered beers that are like the typical modern German brewpub beers (which may or may not be worth the trip out there). It's a nice upmarket place otherwise. |
