| Sadly, Wagerer wasn't open when we were in Parkstein in August. Didn't know that Gunter Zimmermann was still selling beer outside. We always found the beer in Zum Posterer the most 'fizzy' in Eschawo. As you probably know, Alter Pfarrhof is an off-shoot from Loistl. It is Anni Loistl's dream house - as a schoolgirl, she used to wait for the bus outside and always dreamed of owning the house. So, the beer is from Loistl (but, most likely brewed in Eschawo by Robbi Sperber to Rudi's recipe - i.e. 50/50 Pilsner/Munchener malt). They fill casks from their own cellar and take it by car to Altenstadt. So, like Loistl beer in general, it is subject to a fair bit of variation. But the place is quite lovely on a nice day, such as we enjoyed with Don and Cherie. |
