| regarding Holzlein Vollbier, it was in horrible shape during my visit in November, the worst I've had it. It was actually Manuele who reporte a GOOD batch earlier in 2014. What I had in November was actually what he brought back to Rome and later reported to me that it was utterly undrinkable. Rather than being DMS-heavy (something that Andreas apparently alerted Johan to), it was instead all diacetyl. It was the Bockbier in Nov 2014 that was in good shape. The Vollbier was foul. It's not just me and my sensitivie nose, it was also confirmed by Andreas Ganstaller and Manuele. We all do have similar tastes but different sensitivities to faults, but in this case it was clear. |
