Kartoffelsalat @ Café Abseits

For those interested in such things, the "potato salad" of my youth in Minnesota was always much more like the northern variety: thicker, heavier with mayonnaise and chopped pickles. (And my family is of Baden-Württemberg/Bavarian extraction, southern.) And cold, from the fridge, sensibly because of the mayo. "Warm potato salad" was like the more typical Franconian kind, lighter in weight but darker in colour, and yes, sometimes even warmed up. I suppose people got the idea it was supposed to be served *warm* somehow.

Nice translation, interesting info. I think you mean Tochterfirma, not a daughter of the owner of the brewery, in which case you can use the lovely English term "subsidiary". Five *hundred* employees?
