Drossenfelder Bräuwerck Visit

Yesterday I visited Drossenfelder Bräuwerck in Neudrossenfeld.  Very beautiful and cozy hill-side town, the brewery is centrally located in a rather large but modest-looking building.  The interior is swank and modern and polished.

Four beers from tap, Hell, Dunkles, Weizen and Bockbier:

Tagwerck Helles - Rich pilsner maltiness, strongly toasty but also husky and raw-smelling, more as it warms.  Low acidity and low carbonation leave it a little syrupy / flabby... seems really close to being "great" helles but could use some polishing.

Nachtwerck Dunkel - Nutty, chocolate-y and bread-y malt, also lacks acidity so it sits flabby in the mouth.  Very faint huskiness but not to level of the Hell.  Enjoyable but rough.

Bockbier - Honey and grain husk malt character, lemon-y hops, some plastic and alcohol off-notes.  Unlike the Hell and Dunkles it's overly acidic, highly carbonated and rough in the mouth.  Very difficult to drink.

Landwerck Helles Weizen - Spot on weissbier, banana, clove, toasty malt, phenols.  Sits somewhere between Hell and Amber in color.  Highly carbonic and moderatley bitter with low sweetness. Very satisfying quencher.
