| The rise of the prices on average not only for beer is necessary because we have since this year a national minimum wage of 8.50 Euro which is much higher as the wages in the restaurant business for beginners before (in the region of Bamberg: around 6 to 7 Euro). I think the rise to 2,20 Euro isn't big enough but the pub, brewpub and beergarden owners fear a reaction of the guests, especially with the beer prices and the threshold of 2 Euro. It will bes easier to change from 2,20 to 2,40. Some pubs like to high the prices for other drinks and food that are more difficult to compare. In Bamberg-City there is an actual threshold of 3 Euro. Only few places as the "Eckerts" can take higher prices (3,30 Euro for 0,5 l Gänstaller Kellerbier). The prices for bocks have broken the threshold and now You find prices until 3,70 € (p.e. for the Eiche). Cheap for foreigners, but crazy for locals. |
