Re the question of minimum wages and migrant workers.  Firstly, free movement of labour is a basic principle of the EU - the only solution for an individual country is to leave the EU; second, one of the reasons for having a minimum wage is to stop employers taking on migrant workers at reduced wages, thus making it worthwhile for people to take on formerly lowly paid work, such as bar work, etc.  All the exceptions to allow low wages really provide a smokescreen for employers to undercut wages, which is not only morally questionable but also anti-competitive.

Probably time to quit this discussion as we are getting into areas away from the point of this Forum!
