Staffelberg-Bräu on TV

The episodes in this week are a little bit crazy: The headline is Bamberg. They have called many restaurants in Bamberg, also me, but haven't found enough restaurants in Bamberg who are so brave or so crazy to partizipate.

So four of the five restaurants are not in Bamberg: an asian restaurant in Schweinfurt, the Staffelberg-Bräu in Loffeld (part of Staffelstein), the "Goldener Adler" in Hallstadt (between fine and casual dining) and "Hopfen und Malz" in Coburg (the name doesn't mean that this is a beer restaurant or pub).

Only the "Ö3" has its location in Bamberg. "Ö3" has changed some years ago from the Sandstraße (around the edge of the wine pub Pizzini) as a lodger into the hotel Tandem (in front of the Mondschein, near "Pelikan"). The owner, an austrian, has married a woman from Bamberg and offers austrian dishes, p.e. an original Wiener Schnitzel (veal, more expensive as pork), the most sold dish. Some years ago another TV show has said that he offers the best original Schnitzel in Germany. Maybe You like to try it?

My last visit of the brewpub Staffelberg-Bräu was together with Uncle Jimbo. The owner told me some months before the nice story, that he - as a master butcher - has asked to marry the daughter of the senior owner and brewmaster. His step-father has ordered, that he has to make his master brewer, if he want to marry the daughter. So he has learned to love and brew beer. In the last years he has won some beer awards

This story is a littlle bit different to the other master butcher Manfred Reichert (Metzgerbräu) in Uetzing, also part of the administration unit Staffelstein, who has started as a home brewer and has brewed in his first years in the butcher's machines.
