| Well what a result!! I fell on my feet yesterday lunchtime. I was planning to visit Enzensteiner in Enzenreuth yesterday afternoon, so having managed to get into my hotel early, I wandered down to the main square in Nürnberg just to have a walk as the weather was glorious. Lots of people about and all heading towards the square, so I joined the swelling throng and found that there was Schmankerlmarkt selling localy produced goods set up on the square. Lots of bread, würst and meat for sale but more importantly 10 brewery stands. They were:- Hausbrauerie Schober from Zirndorf. Hausbrauerie Cadolzburger (Br. Brandmeier), Dorn Bräu from Ammerndorf. Red Castle Brauerei from Heroldsburg. Weithaler. Zwanger. Altstadthof. Kanone from Schnaittach. Felsen Bräau. Hausbrauerie Hechtbräu. Well having found 5 new breweries to try, I just had to stay as it would be rude not to. (and I still managed to get to Enzenreuth, albeit a bit later than planned). The market should be on again next year on Mothers Day. Stick it in your diaries - it was a fairly good event. Prost, MatW (sadly back in the UK). |
