| If I may be allowed to nitpick just a bit further, the owners of the Kellers are only quoted as having wanted "someone from here [Forchheim]" to operate them. The new lessee is the one wanting to experiment. Whether the owners have any interest in that isn't mentioned. Regardless, the only one objecting is Greif, who's losing an outlet out of the deal. And he goes on to complain, wrongly, that "even at the Erlanger Bergkirchweih, only local beers are on offer". Though we have to be careful...the new guy also supposedly wants to "cute up" the Kellers. I did see evidence of work being done at one of them (old benches torn out) when I was there on Sunday. Alles klar. I still wouldn't say the Annafest beers are as similar as you find them. There's a good range of colour and relative maltiness. Strength-wise, yes, mid to high 5%. |
