Few hints from visit Bambergland last week when returning from Antwerpen:
1) quick stop at Mönchsambach, Lager at very good condition. Evening in Bamberg - Keeseman Herrenpils excellent, Weizen too cloudy but tasty. Mahr's - both U and Helles from tap (no gravity) on garden. No gravity inside. Both very bad. "U" strong grainy character. Spezial Lager and Rauch average, no need to return. Fassla - we tried two beers (Gold-pils and something else) and both were excellent. Suprisingly.
Aecht Schenkerla we skipped, considering it now as tourist place only....
Back to camping with Anruf-Taxi-Linie without any problems...

2)
Walking Bamberg camping - Hirschaid (good Lager, average Weizen), St. Georgen Buttenheim (pub, both average), Löwenbräu Keller (Kellerbier - very good one. Also confirmed that it is different from Lager in pub). Then Hallerndorf (Dorfkeller Liebert was closed, we tried Rittmeier Kellerbier and Weizen in pub, both nothing special), Kreuzberg (Zwickel in Brauhaus was poor; Landbier from Rittmeier excellent; Lieberth also closed) and finished in Stieberlimbach with excellent both Kellerbier and Weizen! Back to camping by hitchhiking (without any troubles, in a few minutes we always get the car). One extra beer in Pettstadt Löwenbräu Keller, very nice Keller. In total we were walking about 30 kilometers.

3) morning Herrenpils again to confirm the quality and taking some bierkisten's back to home... lunch at Wagner @ Merkendorf, both U and Jubi were good as usual

Unfortunately we haven't managed to visit Abseits this time, so next time... hopefuly I will visit it in August by bike (Prague -> Pegnitz by train, then by bike).
:-)
