| Echo the positive comments about Metzgebrau, the beer and food* is fantastic. When I was there last year the brewer / butcher gave us a lift from there to Vierzehnheiligen (where we got a taxi). Of course that may not happen again, we just asked if he would call a taxi and he very kindly offered to do the job himself. We had intended to walk from Bad Staffelstein, via Stublang and Loffeld, but got a lift to Loffeld from a friend and walked from there. It's a very pleasant walk, if a little long but around 2.5hrs or so with regular stops. You could walk on to Veirzehnheiligen but its a bit hilly. They called us a taxi to BS. * food can be bought from the butcher shop and eaten on site. Some of the meats are lovely and the choice is wide and portions are very generous. |
