Bock season

I know where you are coming from Barry, I suppose its all to do with our desire to try all kinds of beer.I personally have a thing about drinking "at source" which is why I suppose I keep returning to Frankenland. And I have to agree re you.r point about brewing good lower abv beers.as a retired head brewer,my last project was setting up the BRIARBANK BREWING CO. in Ipswich.and formulating the standard " Briar Bitter" was one of the more difficult.
I totally agree with Nick B,there is a huge variation in beer from the cask,and beer from the bottle is a different beast altogether.as time since tapping,temperature,etc have a huge impact on flavour.
