| Must have missed that post, thanks for clarifying. As you say, I'm sure if you take Zoigl out of the Oberpfalz it wouldn't taste nearly as good, and as it was his early attempts a visit to source would be in order. It's not THAT isolated, though appreciate it's a long way from Franken. You could (in theory) do a day trip from Bamberg on a Bayern Karte, some 5 hours outbound changing at Nurnberg and Munich and direct back from Kaufbeuren to Nurnberg at 20.38, taking 3 hours. For some reason no direct trains outbound, though I only checked on a Saturday. As its only an hour from Munich I might tie this in with a visit to the latter next year. Though that would be a looong day. |
