I see what you mean,eyewatering prices.I would suggest using this site and the map and find the Gasthaus brewerys that are in towns/villages on the rail route.ie Kraus in Hirschaid.there are several that would be suitable.I would also suggest contacting them directly,and not useing a booking engine.But of course you may already have tried this!
