Cask-conditioned vs KeyKeg

Wow, the Manchester Beer Fest sounds great, too late for us to book now.  Have to make do with our own beer fest in Llandudno in 2 weeks time.

I agree totally with your comments about keykegs, yet another con.  Don't know what Andy thinks but I used to be able to keep a cask of real ale going in good condition for a couple of weeks, after that, getting a bit tricky.  Just have to maintain celler temperature, tap and spile correctly, clean lines at least weekly and try to ensure a reasonable throughput.  Interestingly, we had a mixture of metal and wooden casks, the latter from Wadworth's with 6X and never found any difference in end quality.

When I was a lad (never thought I'd be using this phrase) in Manchester (never Manc, please), a lot of the beer was served using electric pumps and that was fine.  Can't see anything wrong in principle with air-driven pumps.
