| Because of the 500-year celebration of the Reinheitsgebot the event in Bamberg takes 3 days insteaf of only 1 day in the normal years: 22th to 24th April 2016. They write at Facebook: "Bierfest auf dem Maxplatz anläßliche des 500jährigen Jubiläums des bayerischen Reinheitsgebotes mit 8 Bamberger Brauereien. Musik, fränkische kulinarische Spezialitäten und natürlich die große Vielfalt des Bamberger Bieres. Am 23. April (Samstag) um 12 offizielle Festveranstaltung mit Verleihung des Bamberger Bierordens. Übrigens: Das Bamberger Reinheitsgebot gilt schon länger, nämlich seit dem 12. Oktober 1489 und ist somit ein Vorläufer des bayerischen Reinheitsgebotes." Not all Bamberg breweries are members of the organisation "Bamberger Brauereien e.V.", p.e. the Weyermann Braumanufaktur and the Klosterbräu aren't members. The official part of the event - comparable with the normal years - is on saturday, 12 a.m. . P..e. a encomium about the new winner of the Bamberg beer medal (someone who has helped to publicized the Bamberg beer). This event is not open in the evening in the normal years. I haven'ät found the opening times of 2016 But I believe they will close in the late afternoon, early evening. |
