Yes!!! I have lost count of the times that I have said to prospective startup brewers,that your best friend is the publican/barstaff. A Firkin of your first ready to sell brew is THE most important,put it into a venue where the owners and staff are not clued up on the cellaring and serving. And huge damage can be done to the reputation.ie "I had a pint of that new brewerys beer, tasted ***te!" sold to said punter 10 days after broaching. people like your good self(used to be) are a Godsend to new brewers.
