| Thinking about our forthcoming visit to the land of the Franks and local travel. Normally, we buy a 9-Uhr Mobicard, recently, of the 10+T variety, the latter because of the need to use bus services. Our next visit involves 2 distinct locations, Buttenheim and Ebensfeld. From each, we will be most likely travelling only to 4+T locations (i.e. Forcheim from Buttenheim & Bamberg from Ebensfeld). From my memories and looking at the VGN site, when you buy a Mobicard, you have to specify the travel zones. So from Buttenheim on a 4+T, you might specify 470 plus 3 (or 4?) others. But from Ebensfeld, you might specifiy 1182 plus 3 (or 4?) others. The question is, can you have a sort of split ticket that would allow you to specify 4 zones from each place? I think, sort of answering my own question, that the answer has got to be 'no', as this would allow you to cover a much larger number of zones for a lesser price. Am I right? If no, I have to work out what to do: I guess that, in the end, only a 10+T will really cover everything but that costs €95.40 and we might not get our money's worth. Tricky one! |
