| Today's newspaper says, Hauff-Bräu Lichtenau will form a partnership with Tucher Bräu to rescue the brewery. Hauff has only three employees at present. Considering that it once was the biggest player on the Westmittelfranken beer market, along with Hürner Ansbach, and about 70 % of all pubs in the area sold the beer, it sounds kind of pathetic. The plans are, to keep the brewing process at Lichtenau, whereas the bottling and marketing will be done by Tucher. Interesting development. I wonder wether Tucher will simply shut down the brewery in a few years and keep Hauff as a brand, as they always tend to do. |
