OT Harveys Sussex Best again

I suppose thats sort of what I was eluding to re the tasting of beers. It varys according to individual preferences.I personally prefer Ale as fresh as a Daisy,as does Jason it seems. And bearing in mind your comment about the Harveys tasting a bit yeasty,I would venture that you prefer the tad aged flavour. As to the polypins they are not totally impermeable to o2,but that should not be a problem in the short term.the main reason the Ale will stale is that when you first draw pints off the carbonation will force the Ale out with littleor no o2 getting in.But as you take more out you will find that air is drawn in,and usually at some point an air lock occurs.and the tap/cap has to be loosened to allow the Ale out.and from that point on the Ale wil deteriorate.(or not, according to taste!) smiley
