B & J in Franken 2

Nice of you to start off a post with yesterday's events so I didn't have to. (Though I did try, twice, but my old notebook computer's getting a bit wonky and crashed twice while I was trying to write one...)

It was a lovely evening, with the U in very good form, even if not the most spectacularly hoppiest it's ever been. And that draught Märzen (Fred or Gerhard - tank/keg?) was very nice, though dangerously strong. The mystery of the mystery meat was solved, perhaps best illustrated by this photo:

When I saw Kalbsnierenbraten on the menu, having never heard of it before, I somehow got "gebratene Kalbsnieren" (fried veal kidneys) in my head, not a veal roast with kidney, which is what it was. Not sliced nearly as thick as that photo though, nor do I think there was much, if any kidney in mine at all. Tasty though, although the Wirsing & Kloß were a bit tired. Last time I'd had them there, they were much nicer, which I suppose is due to eating relatively late yesterday, rather than quite early, as I normally do there, before the dinner rush.

As to the question of how the Kellerhund is doing, here's one just for you, from our place in Broadstairs:
