I did indeed board the S-Bahn at Eggolsheim at about 19.33, 6 or 7 minutes late as it was. And then we sat there at FO for a good 5 - 10 minutes due to some indeterminate problem ahead of us.

And at 14.00, as I was hoping to take the train from ER to FO and then cycle on from there, the station master was on the phone trying to get information, whereas his colleague could tell me that nobody knew anything about what was going on. And was she apologetic in tone? Nein! Natürlich nicht. You have the Deutsche Bahn, be grateful for it!
