| Also perhaps there's been a lot more interest in Bayern breweries in recent times from visitors e.g. like myself and all our friends on this Forum. Loads of visits, questions asked, etc. I think that you, among others, have pointed out the way that the average German beer consumer buys beer: go the local Trinkmarkt and load up the car with crates of cheap bottles, not very discriminating. You can see that also if you visit on the Franken breweries on a Friday afternoon, specially in good weather periods. But there seems to have been a world-wide increase of interest in speciality beers, probably inspired, as you say, by the rise of 'craft beer' (sorry Nick) in the USA. I've always said that anyone can brew good beer; actually, it's as easy to brew good beer as bad beer but it's consumer demand that will make the brewers work a bit harder. |
